Tavia, the "Earthbound" heroine, is the sole survivor of a plane crash that killed her parents and left her in the keeping of an aunt and uncle. She's safe, she's happy, she should be able to move on with her life.
But... she can't shake the feeling that something's not right- not when she keeps having visions of a beautiful, alluring stranger who wants her to leave her family and flee to Maine, and not when it starts to look like the accident that orphaned her was part of a plot to end her life.
Soon, she's on the run with no one to trust...except the childhood friend she's sworn to love forever, and whose heart she'd have to break to learn the truth about who she is.

Why I'm Waiting...
I came across this book on Pinterest and looked it up on goodreads. I actually really like the sound of this and am interested to check it out when it releases. And I think the cover is pretty also :)

You can run from the grave, but you can’t hide…
Half-vampire Cat Crawfield is now Special Agent Cat Crawfield, working for the government to rid the world of the rogue undead. She’s still using everything Bones, her sexy and dangerous ex, taught her, but when Cat is targeted for assassination, the only man who can help her is the vampire she left behind.
Being around Bones awakens all her emotions, from the adrenaline rush of slaying vamps side by side to the reckless passion that consumed them. But a price on her head – wanted: dead or half-alive – means her survival depends on teaming up with Bones. And no matter how hard Cat tries to keep things professional between them, she’ll find that desire lasts forever … and Bones won’t let her get away again. Original.

Okay, so I am now seriously loving this series. I finished book one yesterday and now I've finished book 2 today in half a day...So yeah, loving it! I can't wait to read book 3. This series is pure entertainment to me. So far, I definitely recommend the series :)

Crank by Ellen Hopkins

Crank
(Crank, #1)
by Ellen Hopkins
Released |October 5th 2004 by Margaret K. McElderry Books|
Edition |Audiobook|
Source |Library|
Add to Goodreads

In Crank, Ellen Hopkins chronicles the turbulent and often disturbing relationship between Kristina, a character based on her own daughter, and the "monster," the highly addictive drug crystal meth, or "crank." Kristina is introduced to the drug while visiting her largely absent and ne'er-do-well father. While under the influence of the monster, Kristina discovers her sexy alter-ego, Bree: "there is no perfect daughter, / no gifted high school junior, / no Kristina Georgia Snow. / There is only Bree." Bree will do all the things good girl Kristina won't, including attracting the attention of dangerous boys who can provide her with a steady flow of crank.
Soon, her grades plummet, her relationships with family and friends deteriorate, and she needs more and more of the monster just to get through the day. Kristina hits her lowest point when she is raped by one of her drug dealers and becomes pregnant as a result. Her decision to keep the baby slows her drug use, but doesn't stop it, and the author leaves the reader with the distinct impression that Kristina/Bree may never be free from her addiction.

Crank is the story of a girl whose addicted to Crank. I have been wanting to read this book for the longest time and I finally decided to get the book from the library. I knew if I would have read this on my own I probably wouldn't have finished it because it was hard to get into in the beginning because of the way it's written (which is unique). But I like the way the woman on the audio book spoke the words and made things flow together.

by Mari Arden
Released |March 2013|

Some secrets change your life forever.

Have you ever felt invisible? I do. Everyday. I can't get close to anyone, and people can't get close to me. Everytime I feel a friendship beginning, something inevitably happens, and I become invisible again. Unseen. Ignored. It's been a part of me for so long that it's hard to imagine anything different.

Then the Saguinox arrive, and my life is forever altered. People are fascinated by these beautiful creatures who look and talk like us. They're alluring. Seductive. Intoxicating. And two of them are going to my school. Rhys is everything I shouldn't want, but his eyes are like something from a memory. I can't help but be intrigued. He's the only one who can really see me.

Some secrets you're better off not knowing.

I had been found on a cold winter night with nothing but a blanket, and ashes covering my skin. My mother saved me from death, and took me in with love. But she couldn't save herself. I didn't think heroes were real anymore until the day Kaiden saved me. I couldn't believe in miracles until the day he revealed I was the miracle they had all been hoping for. Deep inside I always knew my past mattered.

I just didn't know my life would depend on it.

Author Bio

My name is Mari Arden (Mari- rhymes with safari). Teacher by day, author by night. I love my double life. You can also catch me at the gym attempting to sweat out all the sweets I eat when I write. Key word: TRY. I adore sushi and Chipotle burritos, and wouldn't it be paradise if they could be combined somehow?.... Well on second thought, maybe not. I'm one class away from my masters in education, and feel so fortunate to do two things I'm passionate about: teaching and writing. Adventurous? Come join my double life!

For thirty-five girls, the Selection is the chance of a lifetime. The opportunity to escape the life laid out for them since birth. To be swept up in a world of glittering gowns and priceless jewels. To live in a palace and compete for the heart of gorgeous Prince Maxon.
But for America Singer, being Selected is a nightmare. It means turning her back on her secret love with Aspen, who is a caste below her. Leaving her home to enter a fierce competition for a crown she doesn't want. Living in a palace that is constantly threatened by violent rebel attacks.
Then America meets Prince Maxon. Gradually, she starts to question all the plans she's made for herself--and realizes that the life she's always dreamed of may not compare to a future she never imagined.

I don't know how to start of this review. The book was okay. There was some good about the book, but I have to say that there was a lot more bad. When I first heard of this book, I was super excited to read it and then I started hearing a lot of mixed reviews which started making me skeptical, but I knew I would still read it. On to the review!

Books That I Might or Might Not Read?!

Hey everyone,
Sometimes I have an inner debate of whether or not I want to read or buy a book.
Some I might have, but don't know if I'll read or some I want to get, but don't know if I want to buy.
I know I can't be the only one who has this little issue :)
If you've read any of these let me know what you thought of them.
A lot of these might be sequels.
These are the first ten I could think of off the top of my head.

Between the pissed off creatures that want demon-hunter Lily Marks dead and the fallen angel who just...wants her, Lily is about ready to trade in forever for a comfy job in a cubicle farm.
The fact that she and Julian are civil to one another is enough to have her thrown out of the Sanctuary, but she can't shake her not-so-angelic stalker or how he brings her dangerously close to ecstasy.
Her forbidden relationship with Julian provides the perfect fuel for suspicion when a traitor is discovered to be working within the Sanctuary. Lily quickly finds herself hunted by well, everyone.
Her only hope is to discover the real traitor before she loses everything--and she'll need Julian's help. That is, if Julian is really there to help her...and not destroy her.
Yeah, being a Nephilim isn't everything it's cracked up to be.

Why I'm Wishing...
This book actually caught my eye awhile ago and something about forbidden love always interests me :) I don't know why but I love those kind of stories! And the synopsis sounds pretty interesting and I like the cover, so there needs to be a bad ass female ;)

Duncan MacNeill is hell-bent on catching the thief who's stolen the clan's fortune and run off to Grand Cayman Island. Duncan has rarely left his homeland and he couldn't care less about an island paradise. He never expected to find a beautiful distraction who will show him just how appealing paradise can be...
Meets a Dangerous Distraction...
Lone wolf and botanist Shelley Campbell headed to the island to study the old growth forests. She didn't count on meeting a handsome Highlander who can't keep his paws off her.

I am so glad to continue on with this Heart of the Wolf series and the world of wolves that Terry Spear has created. In this installment we continue on with Duncan and Shelley's story, which I thoroughly enjoyed. Something about this Highlander wolf, Duncan, caught my attention. Maybe it was the accent?! Probably :)

She's amazed she doesn't end up as his dinner--are there actually "good" vampires? Pretty soon Bones will have her convinced that being half-dead doesn't have to be all bad. But before she can enjoy her newfound status as kick-ass demon hunter, Cat and Bones are pursued by a group of killers. Now Cat will have to choose a side . . . and Bones is turning out to be as tempting as any man with a heartbeat.

Omg, this is one of the best books I've read this month :) I freaking loved it! Why am I just now reading this. If I hadn't have read Once Burned first and others had told me that was the spin off to this series, I would have never started this book. Great thing I did though! This book was amazing :) And once I finish this review, I will buying and starting book 2!

Bookish Quotes (2)

Hey everyone :)
I'm here to share with you some of my favorite bookish quotes! Just a couple.
I just up and decided to do it. I've always been the type of person who love quotes.
I'll just randomly look them up or as I'm reading, I love to highlight :) Great thing about a kindle, because I'd never highlight in my physical copy lol. I have a thing for love quote too...like an obsession -.-
Anyways, on to the quotes!

“It's easy to look at people and make quick judgments about them, their present and their past, but you'd be amazed at the pain and tears a single smile hides. What a person shows to the world is only one tiny facet of the iceberg hidden from sight. And more often then not, it's lined with cracks and scars that go all the way to the foundation of their soul.”
― Sherrilyn Kenyon, Acheron
“I fell in love the way you fall asleep: slowly, then all at once.”
― John Green, The Fault in Our Stars

“If my life is going to mean anything, I have to live it myself.”
― Rick Riordan, The Lightning Thief

“I don't suffer from my insanity -- I enjoy every minute of it.”
― Sherrilyn Kenyon, Dance with the Devil

“There are wounds that never show on the body that are deeper and more hurtful than anything that bleeds.”
― Laurell K. Hamilton, Mistral's Kiss

“When you have lost hope, you have lost everything. And when you think all is lost, when all is dire and bleak, there is always hope.”
― Pittacus Lore, I Am Number Four

Hailed as “impossible to put down,” the Hex Hall series has both critics and teens cheering. With a winning combination of romance, action, magic and humor, this third volume will leave readers enchanted.
Just as Sophie Mercer has come to accept her extraordinary magical powers as a demon, the Prodigium Council strips them away. Now Sophie is defenseless, alone, and at the mercy of her sworn enemies—the Brannicks, a family of warrior women who hunt down the Prodigium. Or at least that’s what Sophie thinks, until she makes a surprising discovery. The Brannicks know an epic war is coming, and they believe Sophie is the only one powerful enough to stop the world from ending. But without her magic, Sophie isn’t as confident.
Sophie’s bound for one hell of a ride—can she get her powers back before it’s too late?

This was fantastic conclusion in the Hex Hall trilogy. I absolutely loved this book :) I loved every single book in this trilogy! Rachel Hawkins does a fantastic job in capturing the audience from the first page to the last page of a book. I highly recommend this series because it's a fave of mine :)

About the Author
I started my obsession with reading at an early age, getting in trouble for sneaking BabySitter Club and Nancy Drew books into math class in elementary school. I would read any fiction book I could get my hands on. I knew it was an addiction when instead of grounding me from TV or music, my mom would take away my books as punishment (The Horror!). My love of all things paranormal was inspired by my good friend Laurie, who convinced me that books with vampires, witches, and all things shifter were amazing. After a little reluctance, I gave it a shot with the Sookie Stackhouse books, realized she was right, and the rest was history.

I grew up in Pittsburgh, graduated from The University of Pittsburgh with my degree in English, and taught 8th graders to love reading as much as I do for several years. I will always be a proud member of the Steelers Nation, but I couldn't take the cold and moved my frozen tush to Florida where I now live with my family and two cats. You will find me now with my trusty Kindle in hand and toes in the sand!

His first priority is to protect his pack...
Werewolf pack leader Leidolf Wildhaven has just taken over a demoralized pack. With rogue wolves on the loose causing havoc and the authorities from the zoo suddenly zeroing in on the local wolf population, the last thing he needs in his territory is a do-gooder female, no matter how beautiful and enticing she is...
She'll do anything to help wolves...
Biologist Cassie Roux has dedicated her life to protecting wolves in the wild. On a desperate mission to help a she-wolf with newborn pups, the last thing Cassie needs right now is a nosy and entirely too attractive werewolf pack leader trying to track her down...
With rogue wolves and hunters threatening at every turn, Cassie and Leidolf may find their attraction the most dangerous force of all...
Another book down in this Heart of the Wolf series. I feel as though Terry Spear does a great job in capturing an audience into the world of these wolves. The books are filled with pages, but makes for a lightweight read. This installment was pretty good and I did enjoy it, but I felt certain aspects of the books could have been better.

I've been wanting to read Leidolf's story for a while now because he tended to pop up in almost every book so far. So going into this book, I was really excited. I enjoyed this the story a lot, along with the characters and the fast pace of the story. The romance department was kind of lacking to me though. Cassie and Leidolf had an attraction to each other and you could tell. I did like it a little bit, but I didn't feel it was an actual romance. I'm not explaining this well. There was romance, but I guess it wasn't developed enough. I felt like throughout the entire book the two was in the 'dating stage' not the 'love stage' to be mating. I don't think the words 'I love you' was uttered once throughout the entire book. Not even in the end! And I didn't even realize it until I got to the end of the book.

Overall, I thought the story was good, but had a few lacking elements. The book had some good characters and great action :)

Fate turned nurse Carol Woods into a wolf, but she refuses to let being a lupus garou define her life. Ordered by her pack leader to find a mate and commit to shifting, there is only one gray wolf that catches Carol's interest; but Chaz McKinley makes it very clear that unless she's willing to accept what she is, he wants nothing to do with her. When a virus outbreak leaves local pack members trapped in their wolf form, will Chaz and Carol learn to trust each other before it's too late for the pack and their one chance at true love?
I really didn't have to many expectations going into this installment because I really wasn't that interested in reading about the two main characters of this book. I was quite surprise that I enjoyed this book as much as I did. I fell for Ryan, of course, and thought he was a fantastic alpha male. Carol was also a pretty good alpha female :) I really liked how this installment in the heart of the wolf series brought new elements. With Carol's psychic gifts, a lot of things happened differently with being able to experience the visions with her and things of that sort. And I loved her final vision with Ryan in it ;) Lots of danger and lots of excitement went on in this book to keep your mind occupied and stuck between the pages! And I also liked how this book didn't jump face first into the romance and heated scenes. There was attraction, obviously, but it was paced :) Overall, I definitely enjoyed this book and can't wait to read the next!

In this sequel to OF POSEIDON, Emma has just learned that her mother is a long-lost Poseidon princess, and now struggles with an identity crisis: As a Half-Breed, she’s a freak in the human world and an abomination in the Syrena realm below. Syrena law states that all Half- Breeds should be put to death.
As if that’s not bad enough, her mother’s reappearance among the Syrena turns the two kingdoms—Poseidon and Triton—against one another. Which leaves Emma with a decision to make: Should she comply with Galen’s request to keep herself safe and just hope for the best? Or should she risk it all and reveal herself—and her Gift—to save a people she’s never known?
Why I'm Wishing...
I really enjoyed book one in this series and I'm really excited to see how the sequel will turn out and I actually really like the cover of this book :) It's so cute! I love anything with mythology incorporated into it.

4. Read more books outside of the ones I usually stick with.
-I want to try getting into Historical Romances, Steampunk, and contemporary. I don't read to many of those.

5. Try to not go into a book buying frenzy :)

6. Catch up on all the books that are still sitting on my bookshelf unread from 2012.
-I have so many of those *Sigh*

I can't think of anymore at the current moment, so that's all for now.

When a strange boy tumbles down a river embankment and lands at her feet, seventeen-year-old adrenaline junkie Deznee Cross snatches the opportunity to piss off her father by bringing the mysterious hottie with ice blue eyes home.
Except there’s something off with Kale. He wears her shoes in the shower, is overly fascinated with things like DVDs and vases, and acts like she’ll turn to dust if he touches her. It’s not until Dez’s father shows up, wielding a gun and knowing more about Kale than he should, that Dez realizes there’s more to this boy—and her father’s “law firm”—than she realized.
Kale has been a prisoner of Denazen Corporation—an organization devoted to collecting “special” kids known as Sixes and using them as weapons—his entire life. And, oh yeah, his touch? It kills. The two team up with a group of rogue Sixes hellbent on taking down Denazen before they’re caught and her father discovers the biggest secret of all. A secret Dez has spent her life keeping safe.
A secret Kale will kill to protect.
I was really excited to get my hands on a copy of Touch! I've heard nothing but wonderful things about it and it did not disappoint. It was an entertaining and fast paced read that I highly enjoyed and can't wait to pick up a copy of book 2 :) I definitely recommend this book!
