Bloodlines

Bloodlines (Bloodlines, #1)Bloodlines by Richelle Mead

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Synopsis
When alchemist Sydney is ordered into hiding to protect the life of Moroi princess Jill Dragomir, the last place she expects to be sent is a human private school in Palm Springs, California. But at their new school, the drama is only just beginning.
Populated with new faces as well as familiar ones, Bloodlines explores all the friendship, romance, battles and betrayals that made the #1 New York Times bestselling Vampire Academy series so addictive - this time in a part-vampire, part-human setting where the stakes are even higher and everyone's out for blood.
My Thoughts
I loved this book, didn't think i was, but it turned out i loved it! Let me start off saying that i didn't really care for Sydney in the VA books but i liked her in this series. I was laughing so hard at the part when the boy was trying to ask her out on a date to the movies. Its just so cute that she didn't have a clue that he was trying to ask her out. And i love the fact that there's more Adrian. I liked his character in VA but not for Rose. But any back to this book. His sense of humor and sarcasm keeps me laughing, but then you understand his pain if you read the VA series. Jill was a good character and Mead did a great job of portraying the childish and  defiant role into her. Eric was a good character also. I think he played a great part in the way his character was suppose to act. Lee shocked me! I didn't see it coming either. AND THE ENDING!!!! DIMITRI, MY LOVE!!!! Can't wait for the next book!

The Iron Queen

The Iron Queen (Iron Fey, #3)The Iron Queen by Julie Kagawa

My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Synopsis
My name is Meghan Chase.
I thought it was over. That my time with the fey, the impossible choices I had to make, the sacrifices of those I loved, was behind me. But a storm is approaching, an army of Iron fey that will drag me back, kicking and screaming. Drag me away from the banished prince who's sworn to stand by my side. Drag me into the core of conflict so powerful, I'm not sure anyone can survive it.
This time, there will be no turning back.
My Thoughts
I gave this book a 4 out 5 stars because in the beginning Meghan got on my last nerves. All her complaining and whining. Ugh! Annoying but she redeemed herself! I love the adventure and the romance and Puck and Ash! OH Ash, My Love! LOL *sigh* i love me some Ash! When i read a part with him in the book i get all happy inside. Team Ash all the way. And Puck, we can't forget Puck! He just so charming and funny.. He keeps me laughing every time in every book. He makes the books just that much more enjoyable. And i loved the parts with her dad. How she gets to know him again and tries to help him. What i didn't like was how she was so hard on Puck about the situation. Come on who can be mad at Puck! and i must say i did shed some tears towards the end, with the battle. I'm not going to say but i thought a certain someone was going to go bye-bye. AND THE ENDING!!! I can't wait to read THE IRON KNIGHT! I CAN'T WAIT!

Clockwork Angel

Clockwork Angel (The Infernal Devices #1)Clockwork Angel by Cassandra Clare

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Synopsis
Magic is dangerous--but love is more dangerous still.
When sixteen-year-old Tessa Gray crosses the ocean to find her brother, her destination is England, the time is the reign of Queen Victoria, and something terrifying is waiting for her in London's Downworld, where vampires, warlocks and other supernatural folk stalk the gaslit streets. Only the Shadowhunters, warriors dedicated to ridding the world of demons, keep order amidst the chaos.

Kidnapped by the mysterious Dark Sisters, members of a secret organization called The Pandemonium Club, Tessa soon learns that she herself is a Downworlder with a rare ability: the power to transform, at will, into another person. What's more, the Magister, the shadowy figure who runs the Club, will stop at nothing to claim Tessa's power for his own.
Friendless and hunted, Tessa takes refuge with the Shadowhunters of the London Institute, who swear to find her brother if she will use her power to help them. She soon finds herself fascinated by--and torn between--two best friends: James, whose fragile beauty hides a deadly secret, and blue-eyed Will, whose caustic wit and volatile moods keep everyone in his life at arm's length...everyone, that is, but Tessa. As their search draws them deep into the heart of an arcane plot that threatens to destroy the Shadowhunters, Tessa realizes that she may need to choose between saving her brother and helping her new friends save the world...and that love may be the most dangerous magic of all.
My Thoughts
LOVED! OMG! Will... I love him. This book was so good. I never really liked book that set in the old days but this, THIS was amazing! The action in this book blows my mind. The characters Will and the dad of house i forget his name, the one who works on devices, cracks me up. Especially the dad. His dorkyness is what had me laughing at him. Tessa and Will relationship reminds me of Clary and Jace by different all the same. Love Jace and i Love Will. This is a great start to the prequel series and i absolutely loved it! Can't wait for Clockwork Prince! Cassandra Clare is an amazing author

Fade

Fade (Dream Catcher, #2)Fade by Lisa McMann

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Synopsis
For Janie and Cabel, real life is getting tougher than the dreams. They're just trying to carve out a little (secret) time together, but no such luck.
Disturbing things are happening at Fieldridge High, yet nobody's talking. When Janie taps into a classmate's violent nightmares, the case finally breaks open -- but nothing goes as planned. Not even close. Janie's in way over her head, and Cabe's shocking behavior has grave consequences for them both.
Worse yet, Janie learns the truth about herself and her ability -- and it's bleak. Seriously, brutally bleak. Not only is her fate as a dream catcher sealed, but what's to come is way darker than she'd feared....
My Thoughts
This series is a great, its different and a breath of fresh air. This book is a quick read. Love the romance and i think i like this book better than the first one because this book involves Janie in more action than the first one. She's involved in an assignment from the Captain to bust teachers who are involved with other students. The bust went great but i must say this book touched the subject of sex in a way that YA books usually don't. I wouldn't recommend people 15 and under read this. When Cabe and Janie are involved, its very romantic and i loved it but when things went down with the bust it was a little bit hardcore. But i think girls  need to read this book to understand what could happen at a party and date rape drugs. But overall this book was great and it was fun to read and a very quick read. A fave!

The Red Pyramid

Synopsis
Since their mother's death, Carter and Sadie have become near strangers. While Sadie has lived with her grandparents in London, her brother has traveled the world with their father, the brilliant Egyptologist, Dr. Julius Kane.
One night, Dr. Kane brings the siblings together for a "research experiment" at the British Museum, where he hopes to set things right for his family. Instead, he unleashes the Egyptian god Set, who banishes him to oblivion and forces the children to flee for their lives.
Soon, Sadie and Carter discover that the gods of Egypt are waking, and the worst of them —Set— has his sights on the Kanes. To stop him, the siblings embark on a dangerous journey across the globe - a quest that brings them ever closer to the truth about their family and their links to a secret order that has existed since the time of the pharaohs.
My Thoughts
Rick Riordan, you've done it again! His books are just so fun and you feel as if your in the adventures with the characters. Sadie and Carter are fun. They remind me of of normal kids who bicker amongst each other constantly, which i love about them. I love the fact that you learn so much about Egypt and Greek Mythology in this book. Even more than in the Percy Jackson series of his, which i love also. The gods are hilarious, with their attitudes and their twisted sense of humor. Can't wait to read the Throne of Fire. This very fast pace. It goes from one adventure to another. It even starts off with an adventure. You never get bored. This book is for everyone. Whether your a kid, a teen, or even and adult. I believe everyone would love these stories

If I Stay

Synopsis
In a single moment, everything changes. Seventeen year- old Mia has no memory of the accident; she can only recall riding along the snow-wet Oregon road with her family. Then, in a blink, she finds herself watching as her own damaged body is taken from the wreck... A sophisticated, layered, and heartachingly beautiful story about the power of family and friends, the choices we all make -and the ultimate choice Mia commands.
My Thoughts
This book was great! Let me get right into it. THe first thing this reminded me of is when a person says they see their life flash before their eyes.  Mia has all these flashbacks of the past with her family. Let me start off saying that is so sad the way the accident happened. With this book you see Mia struggle with the ultimate decision to stay and live or to go  leave the world and die. You can see her emotions with the death of her family. You also deal with the emotions of her family and friends and how they are dealing with her being in  a coma.  I like that you get glimpses of her and Adam's relationships and their relatioship problems. The ending was what i hoped would happen. Its a great book and i enjoyed it and was a very quick read.

Dark Desires

Dark Desire (Carpathians, #2)Dark Desire by Christine Feehan

My rating: 3 of 5 stars

Synopsis
The stranger silently summons her from across the continents, across the seas. He whispers of eternal torment, of endless hunger...of dark, dangerous desires. And somehow American surgeon Shea O'Halloran can feel his anguish, sense his haunting aloneness, and she aches to heal him, to heal herself. Drawn to the far Carpathian mountains, Shea finds a ravaged, raging man, a being like no other. And her soul trembles. For in his burning eyes, his icy heart, she recognizes the beloved stranger who's already become part of her. This imperious Carpathian male compels Shea to his side. But is she to be his healer...or his prey? His victim...or his mate? Is he luring her into madness...or will his dark desire make her whole?

My Thoughts
This was okay. There were parts that i liked and parts that i didn't like. The thing i liked was the concept and the romance of course and i liked the action too but what turned me off about this book was the women. Shea in particular. I'm all for a women being independent and want to do for herself but she did it to the point of annoyance. Everything Jacques wanted or needed or tried to get her to understand, there was always an argument and always defiance. ANNOYING! Really? Most things she argued about was stupid and unnecessary. Always stubborn and couldn't trust anything he said  for nothing. Overall i didn't really care for the book but it wasn't to bad

Sing Me To Sleep

Sing Me to SleepSing Me to Sleep by Angela Morrison

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Synopsis

That is, until she's selected to be her choir's soprano soloist, and receives the makeover that will change her life forever.
THE LOVE AFFAIR
When Beth's choir travels to Switzerland, she meets Derek: pale, brooding, totally dreamy. Derek's untethered passion - for music, and for Beth - leaves her breathless. Because in Derek's eyes? She's not The Beast, she's The Beauty.
THE IMPOSSIBLE CHOICE
When Beth comes home, Scott, her best friend in the world, makes a confession that leaves her completely torn. Should she stand by sweet, steady Scott or follow the dangerous, intense new feelings she has for Derek?
THE HEARTBREAK
The closer Beth gets to Derek, the further away he seems. Then Beth discovers that Derek's been hiding a dark secret from her ...one that could shatter everything.
My Thoughts
This book was truly amazing. It was emotional. It had made me happy and it made me cry. I cried so hard at the end. Derek was the light in the darkness. I'm just thinking about the book. I had a feeling of what would happen in the end, but it still made me cry even though i knew. You can relate to this book in so many ways. Whether its from getting picked on like Beth and going through a transformation, or whether you feel like Scott, or whether you going through or know someone whose going through what Derek went through. This book touched me in a way that i can't even describe.
Please check out this book. I recommend it to EVERYONE! This book is just so touching and is just so amazing!

Halo

Halo (Halo, #1)Halo by Alexandra Adornetto

My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Synopsis
Three angels – Gabriel, the warrior; Ivy, the healer; and Bethany, the youngest and most human – are sent by Heaven to bring good to a world falling under the influence of darkness. They must work hard to conceal their luminous glow, superhuman powers, and, most dangerous of all, their wings, all the while avoiding all human attachments.
Then Bethany meets Xavier Woods, and neither of them is able to resist the attraction between them. Gabriel and Ivy do everything in their power to intervene, but the bond between Xavier and Bethany seems too strong.
The angel’s mission is urgent, and dark forces are threatening. Will love ruin Bethany or save her?

My Thoughts
It was a good book. Not as much action as i would've liked, but overall a good book. I like the character Molly, Bethany, Xavier, Gabriel and Ivy. Jake was okay. He brought the action into the book. The romance was good but i thought there could've been more depth to what there was. When Bethany and Xavier were in the cemetery with Jake i thought it was a bit over dramatic at times. There were parts that made me laugh, which i really liked.I liked the part where Bethany is getting ready for prom and is nervous and giddy to the reaction of Xavier! So realistic. I could just imagine how beautiful she look. The description of it all in that moment was great. OVERALL good book. I recommend to to anyone, any age. Can't wait to check out Hades. What is with authors and their frickin' endings of books?!

Will Grayson, Will Grayson

Will Grayson, Will GraysonWill Grayson, Will Grayson by John Green

My rating: 4 of 5 stars
Synopsis
One cold night, in a most unlikely corner of Chicago, two teens—both named Will Grayson—are about to cross paths. As their worlds collide and intertwine, the Will Graysons find their lives going in new and unexpected directions, building toward romantic turns-of-heart and the epic production of history’s most fabulous high school musical.
Hilarious, poignant, and deeply insightful, John Green and David Levithan’s collaborative novel is brimming with a double helping of the heart and humor that have won both them both legions of faithful fans.
My Thoughts
This was an amazing book. Not the typical book I read but since so many people recommended it to me, i decided to check it out. Let me start off saying that i loved every single character. The Will Graysons! They are both alike and different in some ways. John's Will Grayson is like the dorky kid who keeps to himself besides his small group of friends. And what i like most about him is his relationship with Jane. Its just so cute. LOL! David's Will Grayson is the dark child, who hates the world and he's basically a loner who fights depression. But i love how his character develops throughout the story. He really is a sweet kid who just doesn't know how to express himself. But TINY! I love him. His character is just so fun but what you see in him towards the end of the book when he opens up about his feelings, anyone can relate to it.
Overall i loved this book! So glad i bought it and i recommend it to everyone.. I was a fun and entertaining read!

Mockingjay

Mockingjay (The Hunger Games, #3)Mockingjay by Suzanne Collins

My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Synopsis
Young Katniss Everdeen has survived the dreaded Hunger Games not once, but twice, but even now she can find no relief. In fact, the dangers seem to be escalating: President Snow has declared an all-out war on Katniss, her family, her friends, and all the oppressed people of District 12. The thrill-packed final installment of Suzanne Collins' Hunger Games trilogy will keep young hearts pounding.
My Thoughts
This book is actually great! The only part i don't like is about Prim. When i realized what happened, i cried. Towards the end the book got sadder and sadder with all the deaths that kept occurring. But i don't know why people don't like this book so much. I guess they don't like the book on the ending. Yes the ending with Prim and everything was sad but i'm happy that Katnis ended up with Peeta in the end. I didn't know i was team Peeta until this book. But overall i loved it. I guess Katnis doesn't speak with Gale anymore based on the end. IDK. But i wish this wasn't the end of a great trilogy.
