This Week's Topic: Top Ten Popular Authors I've Never ReadI don't know if all of these authors are considered 'popular'.
(In No Particular Order!)
1. John Green - I've read Will Grayson, Will Gray but I haven't read a book that was just written by him. I have TFiOS, Paper Towns, and Looking For Alaska on my shelf and haven't read any of them.
2. Stephanie Perkins
3. Colleen Hoover
4. Patricia Briggs - I've been wanting to read her books for quite a few years now
5. Stephen King
6. Jennifer Echols
7. Patrick Ness - I have the Knife of Never Letting Go, but have yet read it.
8. J.R.R Tolkien - haven't seen any of the books or movies
9. George R.R. Martin
10. Scott Westerfield
I know I've forgotten some authors, but these are the ones off the top of my head.
Great list! I've read books by seven of the authors on your list but nothing by Stephanie Perkins (also on my list), Colleen Hoover or Jennifer Echols. This will sound awful but I don't think I could actually name a book written by Echols and Colleen Hoover just doesn't appeal to me unfortunately :(
ReplyDeleteI really want to read Hopeless by Colleen Hoover. I can't really think of one by Echols though. But I've heard a lot of about her books
DeleteI only read Ness and Marting off this list, and I love both. I also read The Hobbit which was amazing. I have yet to read LotR and the rest of the authors...
ReplyDeleteHappy reading

I've not seen the Hobbit or the movie. I really want to see the movie for some reason :)
DeleteNice! Haven't read these myself either. Although I did start Briggs' series but then just fell out of it.
ReplyDeleteHere's my Tuesday post
Have a GREAT day!
Old Follower :)
I hope I like the Briggs books whenever I start them :)
DeleteColleen Hoover and John Green are absolutely amazing! I hope you get the chance to read them soon :) ESPECIALLY Tfios <3

I definitely want to get to Green soon since I have so many of his book on my shelf lol
DeleteStephen King is on my list this week too. I recommend Colleen Hoover. I've really enjoyed her books.
ReplyDeleteI really want to read Hopeless :)
Deletegreat list, I have read a few of those and would recommend Stephanie Perkins and John Green to just about anyone haha. I have Patrick Ness on my list too, been dying to read him for so long but never get around to it :( haha.

I have the knife of never letting go on my shelf, but have not read it :) And I've heard great things about both Perkins and Green!
Deleteif there is any contemporary author you should read this year its them two. Cant wait to hear what you think of them when you eventually get around to reading them :)
DeleteColleen Hoover and Stephanie Perkins? *gasps* That's a crime, Janina! I hope you'll get to them soon:) Patricia Briggs is someone I know Rachel from The Reader's Den really loves. Jennifer Echols--totally forgot her novels, but they're high on my tbr. Nr 7-10 aren't really authors whose books I'd enjoy, because idk.. they seem boring to me, but I might be entirely wrong. The movies based on Lord of the Rings books and Hobbit are some of my favorites so perhaps I should try them, though I heard that they have so much description in them. Such a great list, Janina:)
ReplyDeletelol I'm sorry! I didn't mean to commit a crime :) I added 7-10 because they're very popular, but the only one I would probably give a try is Westerfield.
DeleteI haven't read a lot of these either! I've read Misery by Stephen King and the Hobbit by Tolkien, but that's it from them.
ReplyDeleteI've not read any of those. The stephen king movie It is stuck in my mind from when I was younger lol
DeleteThere is a mix of authors that I have read and loved and those that I haven't read. Some of them are specific and I'm not sure how much you'd enjoy Tolkinen. His books are amazing but they take time, not only to read but process as well. But I'm sure you'll enjoy Stephanie. She is someone whose books you'll love. Great picks, Janina :)
ReplyDeleteI haven't read most of these authors either. I hope to read Stephanie Perkins sometime soon though!
ReplyDeleteI have not read some of these either. I loved Lord of The Rings movies but to be honest I just couldn't finish reading those books ;/ as for others, there are authors that I shamefully admit have never heard of.
