Hey guys,
Terry Spear took the time to do an author interview with me and I am so excited!
She is the author of some amazing books and series :)
On To The Interview:
1. Where is the current place your reside and can you tell us a little bit about yourself?
The heart of Texas! Seems appropriate for a romance author, right? I'm a retired lieutenant colonel with the USAR, work in a library, and created award-winning teddy bears that have found homes all over the world including Canada, Kazakhstan, Belgian, China, France and Australia! And I write award-winning novels, paranormal, urban fantasy, and historical romance, plus paranormal and fantasy teen romance.
2. Have you always wanted to be an author and what or who inspired you to become a writer?
I've always created stories, even orally as a child. I never expected to become a published author though. When I was teaching my children to read, I began writing children's books.
3. When did you write your first complete book?
My first romance was about ten years ago. It's a historical set in Waco, Texas and New Orleans. Someday I'll revise it and try to get it published. I loved writing it, and it has lots of action and adventure, but it needs a lot of editing too.
4. Do you take any part in creating your book covers?
Our marketing department asks for descriptions of our characters. I have fun because not only do I send pictures of the location where the story is set, but of wolves also! It's important to get the right wolf! I don't get to pick the hunky male model, but I always have my hand raised as I'm offering! But with Legend of the White Wolf, for instance, that had to feature an Arctic white wolf, and for Seduced by the Wolf, that one was a red wolf.
5. Do you have any bad habits you do when you are reading?
The only problem I have is that I feel guilty that I'm not working on my own stories! But I LOVE to read and will never give it up! I guess the other bad thing is that if I'm hooked, I know I have to go to sleep or I'll regret it on a work day, but sometimes I just can't stop reading.
6. Where is your favorite place to read?
Bed! I don't allow myself to read before I go to bed because I have too much to work on before I'm off to the day job again.
7. Are you currently reading any books?
Always! I do listen to audio books on the way to and from work, loved Wolfsbane and the Nightshade by Cremer, and The Scorpio Races, all YA. I have a new one of Allison Brennan's I'm itching to listen to, and I'm working on reading 18 books for 3 different published author contests right now. I can't share the titles....you know, top secret and all that. LOL :)
8. Who are some of your favorite authors?
Karen Moning, Christine Feehan, Ann Cremer, Leslie Lafoy and tons others that I can't think of offhand!
9. Which do you prefer: Stand Alone or Series when it comes to books?
Absolutely stand alone titles! I never know if I'm getting into the middle of a series or not when I buy a book that looks interesting. I was just really disappointed in a book that left off at a cliff hanger. I want resolution at the end of the story. Who knows when I'll ever read her next book? Maybe never.
10. Do you have any advice for writers out there who want to become authors?
Keep writing, keep revising, and keep submitting!
11. Where can people buy your books?
Amazon, Barnes and Noble, All Romance E-Books.
12. Do you have any websites? (Twitter, Facebook, Blog, etc.)
