ReVamped by Ada Adams

ReVamped
(Angel Creek, #1)
by Ada Adams
Released |February 20th 2012|
Edition |Ebook|

A simple mission turned deadly.
Nineteen-year-old vampire Dawn has led a sheltered life within the confines of her father’s presidential headquarters. Upon being sent on a mission to revamp four goofy misfits into guardians of a peaceful little town of Angel Creek, Dawn believes that all her dreams have finally come true. What starts off as a simple task, turns into something unexpected, changing Dawn’s life forever and leading the action-loving, thrill-seeking vampire teen on a path of mystery, danger and intrigue.
When a human girl is kidnapped by a group of rogue vamps, Dawn discovers that there is more going on in Angel Creek than meets the eye. And it all connects to Ethan, the cute newcomer who seems too perfect to be true, Sebastian, the mysterious vampire with a turbulent past, and even Dawn herself. Dawn must not only succeed in revamping the troubled recruits, but must also prevent the vampire race from being overtaken by a malevolent villain who has a strange and obsessive fascination with her. As threat escalates, romance blooms, and ghosts from her past begin to surface, Dawn is sure of only one thing: her life will never be the same.
I love the cover of this book! It so pretty :) Just thought I'd get that out there. Now see I have been all vamped out for years now...I read too many books with them! But when a book this good comes along, it doesn't fall into the 'played out' category :)

Wither by Lauren DeStefano

Wither
(The Chemical Garden Trilogy, #1)
by Lauren DeStefano
Released |March 22nd 2011 by Simon and Schuster Books for Young Readers|
Edition |Audio book, 9 discs|
By age sixteen, Rhine Ellery has four years left to live. She can thank modern science for this genetic time bomb. A botched effort to create a perfect race has left all males with a lifespan of 25 years, and females with a lifespan of 20 years. Geneticists are seeking a miracle antidote to restore the human race, desperate orphans crowd the population, crime and poverty have skyrocketed, and young girls are being kidnapped and sold as polygamous brides to bear more children. When Rhine is kidnapped and sold as a bride, she vows to do all she can to escape. Her husband, Linden, is hopelessly in love with her, and Rhine can’t bring herself to hate him as much as she’d like to. He opens her to a magical world of wealth and illusion she never thought existed, and it almost makes it possible to ignore the clock ticking away her short life. But Rhine quickly learns that not everything in her new husband’s strange world is what it seems. Her father-in-law, an eccentric doctor bent on finding the antidote, is hoarding corpses in the basement. Her fellow sister wives are to be trusted one day and feared the next, and Rhine is desperate to communicate to her twin brother that she is safe and alive. Will Rhine be able to escape--before her time runs out?Together with one of Linden's servants, Gabriel, Rhine attempts to escape just before her seventeenth birthday. But in a world that continues to spiral into anarchy, is there any hope for freedom?

Wow! I don't know why I procrastinated in reading this amazing story :) It was awesome! I'm so glad I already have book 2! 4.5 stars to Wither. But I must say, I think this book is for mature teens and up.

A hidden truth.
Mortal enemies.
Doomed love.
Marked as special at an early age, Jacinda knows her every move is watched. But she longs for freedom to make her own choices. When she breaks the most sacred tenet among her kind, she nearly pays with her life. Until a beautiful stranger saves her. A stranger who was sent to hunt those like her. For Jacinda is a draki, a descendant of dragons whose greatest defense is her secret ability to shift into human form.
Forced to flee into the mortal world with her family, Jacinda struggles to adapt to her new surroundings. The only bright light is Will. Gorgeous, elusive Will who stirs her inner draki to life. Although she is irresistibly drawn to him, Jacinda knows Will's dark secret: He and his family are hunters. She should avoid him at all costs. But her inner draki is slowly slipping away—if it dies she will be left as a human forever. She'll do anything to prevent that. Even if it means getting closer to her most dangerous enemy.

Where She Went by Gale Forman

Where She Went
(If I Stay, #2)
by Gale Forman
Released |April 5th 2011 by Dutton Juvenile|
Edition |Hardback, 274 pages|
Source |Library|
It's been three years since the devastating accident . . . three years since Mia walked out of Adam's life forever.
Now living on opposite coasts, Mia is Juilliard's rising star and Adam is LA tabloid fodder, thanks to his new rock star status and celebrity girlfriend. When Adam gets stuck in New York by himself, chance brings the couple together again, for one last night. As they explore the city that has become Mia's home, Adam and Mia revisit the past and open their hearts to the future-and each other.
Told from Adam's point of view in the spare, lyrical prose that defined If I StayWhere She Went explores the devastation of grief, the promise of new hope, and the flame of rekindled romance.

I don't know why I have continued to push off reading this book for so long. I've been wanting to dig into it for a while, but I always choose another book over it. Why? But now that I have read it, I'm so glad I finally did. To get the second part to an amazing story!

Some Excitement In My Life :)

OMG, I have just been thinking of some of the books I am excited for, for 2013.
These actually have covers :) I just can't contain my excitement. Here are three books that I am excited for.
I was bored and decided to post this. But, I just can't wait! Can 2013 get here a little faster? Please and thank you!

Ahhhh!!! --Light by Michael Grant-- Isn't this the final book in the series! How will it all end?! Oh, the suspense! I CANNOT wait to read this. A little weird huh?! Gone, Hunger, Lies, Plague, Fear, and then Light.... lol

Lover At Last by J.R. Ward!!!!!!
Well it's about gotdamn time Qhuinn and Blay get their damn story! THIS is probably the most anticipated Black Dagger Brotherhood book to come :) OMG! I cannot contain my excited. Where will Ward takes us. We just got off an emotional roller coaster with Tohr. I need these two to get it together :D

The Rising by Kelley Armstrong!! I just now, two days ago, seen the cover for this book :) I like how the same girl is on all the covers. Hopefully this book is better than The Calling. I liked The Calling, but it was kind of a disappointment. So, hopefully this one is waayyy better!

The Golden Lily by Richelle Mead

The Golden Lily
(Bloodlines, #2)
by Richelle Mead
Released |June 12th 2012 by Razorbill|
Edition |Hardback, 418 pages|
The second thrilling installment in Richelle Mead's Vampire Academy spinoff series
Tough, brainy alchemist Sydney Sage and doe-eyed Moroi princess Jill Dragomir are in hiding at a human boarding school in the sunny, glamorous world of Palm Springs, California. The students--children of the wealthy and powerful--carry on with their lives in blissful ignorance, while Sydney, Jill, Eddie, and Adrian must do everything in their power to keep their secret safe. But with forbidden romances, unexpected spirit bonds, and the threat of Strigoi moving ever closer, hiding the truth is harder than anyone thought.
Populated with new faces as well as familiar ones, Richelle Mead's breathtaking Bloodlines series explores all the friendship, romance, battles, and betrayals that made the #1 New York Times bestselling Vampire Academy series so addictive. In this second book, the drama is hotter, the romances are steamier, and the stakes are even higher.

Great Sequel to an amazing series! Props to Richelle Mead for continuing on with an amazing series. I still liked Bloodlines better, but The Golden Lily was still really really good! I definitely think that those who've read Bloodlines need to hurry and read this one. And if you have not read the Vampire Academy series, you don't know what you've been missing!

From You To Me (4)

About - From Me To You
From me to you is something that I decided to do on my blog. Where I talk about a certain topic that people may have asked me or that is a topic going around on blogs! I hope everyone enjoys this :) It's something I just decided to do. Keep in mind these thoughts are just my opinions and experiences with book blogging from me to you :) I'm going to try to do these weekly or maybe every two weeks. I don't know how that will go.

This Week's Topic

When do I decide to buy the ebook over print book...

When it comes to a series and I have started them in ebooks and don't have any in hardback/paperback, then I will continue the series as ebooks. It would be pointless, in my eyes, to have book 5 in a series sitting on your bookshelf when the rest of the books are on your kindle lol :) That's my logic! I actually have some series like that where I have one or two books of the series on my bookshelf and the rest on my kindle. I now feel the need to go out and buy the rest of the series even though I already have the books, but just to complete them on my bookshelf. If that makes any sense whatsoever :D

I also decide to buy ebooks when I'm broke. Yes, sometimes money does have to factor in and ebooks are cheaper, so Idk. That's how I do lol

Obsidian by Jennifer L. Armentrout

Obsidian
(Lux, #1)
by Jennifer L. Armentrout
Released |May 8th 2012 by Entangled Teen|
Edition |Ebook|
Starting over sucks.
When we moved to West Virginia right before my senior year, I'd pretty much resigned myself to thick accents, dodgy internet access, and a whole lot of boring.... until I spotted my hot neighbor, with his looming height and eerie green eyes. Things were looking up.
And then he opened his mouth.
Daemon is infuriating. Arrogant. Stab-worthy. We do not get along. At all. But when a stranger attacks me and Daemon literally freezes time with a wave of his hand, well, something...unexpected happens.
The hot alien living next door marks me.
You heard me. Alien. Turns out Daemon and his sister have a galaxy of enemies wanting to steal their abilities, and Daemon's touch has me lit up like the Vegas Strip. The only way I'm getting out of this alive is by sticking close to Daemon until my alien mojo fades.
If I don't kill him first, that is.

This book was such a refreshing read :) Omg, Daemon! *Swoon* I devoured this book in a matter of a day and a half :) That's how amazing it was! It was a quick and fantastic read. This a book that kept you on your toes, that made you laugh, and that had romance and built of frustrations that could last for months :)

The Calling by Kelley Armstrong

The Calling
(Darkness Rising, #2)
by Kelley Armstong
Released |April 10th 2012 by HarperCollins|
Edition |Ebook|
Maya and her friends--all of whom have supernatural powers--have been kidnapped after fleeing from a forest fire they suspect was deliberately set, and after a terrifying helicopter crash they find themselves pursued by evildoers in the Vancouver Island wilderness.
This is the second installment in the Darkness Rising series by Kelley Armstrong. The book was pretty good, but not what I thought it would be. It was adventurous, but there were some elements to the book I felt were missing.

Elemental by Brigid Kemmerer

Elemental
(Elementals, #0.5)
by Brigid Kemmerer
Released |March 27th 2012 by K Teen (Kensington)|
Edition |Ebook|
Earth, Fire, Air, Water – they are more than you dream.

As an air Elemental, 17-year-old Emily Morgan doesn’t have much power. That’s okay—she knows what happens to kids who do.

Like Michael Merrick. He’s an earth Elemental, one with enough power to level cities. Which makes him sexy. Dangerous. And completely off limits. At least according to Emily’s family.

But her summer job puts her in close contact with Michael, and neither of them can help the attraction they feel. When forces of nature like theirs collide, one misstep could get someone killed. Because Emily’s family doesn’t just want her to stay away from him.

They want him dead.

I thought this was a great novella to start of this Elemental series :) Considering I read Storm before Elemental, I now get a deeper look into why Michael was the way he was in Storm.

City of Lost Souls by Cassandra Clare

City of Lost Souls
(The Mortal Instruments, #5)
by Cassandra Clare
Released |May 8th 2012 by Margaret K. McElderr|
Edition |Ebook|
The demon Lilith has been destroyed and Jace has been freed from her captivity. But when the Shadowhunters arrive to rescue him, they find only blood and broken glass. Not only is the boy Clary loves missing–but so is the boy she hates, Sebastian, the son of her father Valentine: a son determined to succeed where their father failed, and bring the Shadowhunters to their knees.

No magic the Clave can summon can locate either boy, but Jace cannot stay away—not from Clary. When they meet again Clary discovers the horror Lilith’s dying magic has wrought—Jace is no longer the boy she loved. He and Sebastian are now bound to each other, and Jace has become what he most feared: a true servant of Valentine’s evil. The Clave is determined to destroy Sebastian, but there is no way to harm one boy without destroying the other. Will the Shadowhunters hesitate to kill one of their own?

Only a small band of Clary and Jace’s friends and family believe that Jace can still be saved — and that the fate of the Shadowhunters’ future may hinge on that salvation. They must defy the Clave and strike out on their own. Alec, Magnus, Simon and Isabelle must work together to save Jace: bargaining with the sinister Faerie Queen, contemplating deals with demons, and turning at last to the Iron Sisters, the reclusive and merciless weapons makers for the Shadowhunters, who tell them that no weapon on this earth can sever the bond between Sebastian and Jace. Their only chance of cutting Jace free is to challenge Heaven and Hell — a risk that could claim any, or all, of their lives.

And they must do it without Clary. For Clary has gone into the heart of darkness, to play a dangerous game utterly alone. The price of losing the game is not just her own life, but Jace’s soul. She’s willing to do anything for Jace, but can she even still trust him? Or is he truly lost? What price is too high to pay, even for love?

Darkness threatens to claim the Shadowhunters in the harrowing fifth book of the Mortal Instruments series.

This book surprised me. I didn't know what to expect going into the fifth book of The Mortal Instruments series. I've been anxiously awaiting its release for a year! I was hearing so many mixed reviews about it, I didn't know what to expect. But the anxiety is over, and you know what, I loved it! :)

Itching To Get My Hands On (15)

Velveteen
(Velveteen, #1)
by Daniel Marks
Released |October 9th 2012 by Random House Children's Books|
Edition |Hardcover, 464 pages|
Velveteen Monroe is dead. At 16, she was kidnapped and murdered by a madman named Bonesaw. But that's not the problem.
The problem is she landed in purgatory. And while it's not a fiery inferno, it's certainly no heaven. It's gray, ashen, and crumbling more and more by the day, and everyone has a job to do. Which doesn't leave Velveteen much time to do anything about what's really on her mind.
Bonesaw.
Velveteen aches to deliver the bloody punishment her killer deserves. And she's figured out just how to do it. She'll haunt him for the rest of his days.
It'll be brutal . . . and awesome.
But crossing the divide between the living and the dead has devastating consequences. Velveteen's obsessive haunting cracks the foundations of purgatory and jeopardizes her very soul. A risk she's willing to take—except fate has just given her reason to stick around: an unreasonably hot and completely off-limits coworker.
Velveteen can't help herself when it comes to breaking rules . . . or getting revenge. And she just might be angry enough to take everyone down with her.

They’re powerful. Dangerous. Marked for death.

Secrets are hard to keep when your life’s at stake. When Hunter, the mysterious new kid around school, turns up with a talent for being in the wrong place at the right time, Becca thinks she can trust him. Dark Companion
by Marta Acosta
Released |July 3rd 2012 by Tom Doherty Associates|
Edition |E-ARC|
Source |NetGalley|
Orphaned at the age of six, Jane Williams has grown up in a series of foster homes, learning to survive in the shadows of life. Through hard work and determination, she manages to win a scholarship to the exclusive Birch Grove Academy. There, for the first time, Jane finds herself accepted by a group of friends. She even starts tutoring the headmistress’s gorgeous son, Lucien. Things seem too good to be true.
They are.

The more she learns about Birch Grove’s recent past, the more Jane comes to suspect that there is something sinister going on. Why did the wife of a popular teacher kill herself? What happened to the former scholarship student, whose place Jane took? Why does Lucien’s brother, Jack, seem to dislike her so much?

As Jane begins to piece together the answers to the puzzle, she must find out why she was brought to Birch Grove—and what she would risk to stay there….
This book was something so out of the ordinary for me :) It was a good book, but it had some very weird and different elements to it that I have never read in a book before.
