Allison Sekemoto has vowed to rescue her creator, Kanin, who is being held hostage and tortured by the psychotic vampire Sarren. The call of blood leads her back to the beginning—New Covington and the Fringe, and a vampire prince who wants her dead yet may become her wary ally.
Even as Allie faces shocking revelations and heartbreak like she’s never known, a new strain of the Red Lung virus that decimated humanity is rising to threaten human and vampire alike.
Why I'm Wishing...
First off, Am I the only one upset about this cover?! How do go from The Immortals Rules to that. Not digging it! I mean it's not ugly, but I like when covers coincide if you know what I mean. But anyways, I'm super excited for the release of this book. I love Julie Kagawa's writing and I'm really excited for this sequel :) I can't wait.

  7. I absolutely loved The Immortal Rules. I loved the cover of the first one so a little disappointed with the cover change but I still think it's rather pretty. I can't wait to read the next book in the series as the first was definitely one of my favourite books of the year! Great choice!

  11. I like the cover, but c'mon why did they have to change them??
I've never read a Julie Kagawa book, and I have all of her books at home. I'm having a Julie Kagawa month in January, reading all of her books!

  12. They decided to change the covers and I am confused which one is the better choice. It's a great pick, by the way and I have yet to read The Immortal Rules!

  14. You are definitely NOT the only one upset about the cover. They don't match- At. All.
I'm still dying to read it though. Immortal Rules was one of the best books I read this year.

  15. I love the cover even though it doesn't match the Immortal Rules. However I'm like you, I prefer when the covers in a series match (take The Iron Fey Series for instance :P). I hope they'll release a new edition of the first one with a cover that's more similar to this one :)

Didn't know the second book was coming out. Haven't read the first one yet - it's n my wishlist - but I know Julie Kagawa's writing and I adore it.

    Nice pick ^_^

  16. I've never heard about this series before. The covers are definitely different. I personally prefer the second cover, BUT I think it's really strange how the two covers have so little congruence for being in the same series.

Seems pretty interesting! Hope you get your hands on it soon!

    Thanks for stopping by!

  17. I don't care for the cover change either, but I don't usually keep my books after I read them anyway. I have THE IMMORTAL RULES sitting on my shelf, unread. I really need to get on that!

  18. I still need to read the first, and whilst the cover is pretty it should match the first :c
