Allison Sekemoto has vowed to rescue her creator, Kanin, who is being held hostage and tortured by the psychotic vampire Sarren. The call of blood leads her back to the beginning—New Covington and the Fringe, and a vampire prince who wants her dead yet may become her wary ally.
Even as Allie faces shocking revelations and heartbreak like she’s never known, a new strain of the Red Lung virus that decimated humanity is rising to threaten human and vampire alike.

This is one of my top 2013 books that I was dying to get my hands on and it DID NOT DISAPPOINT! This is a pretty massive read that I devoured within days. I could not put the book down! I loved the world that Julie Kagawa has created, a city where the vamps rule and the humans are nothing but a source of food. This was a pretty dark read. The book was filled with so much sadness, heartache, torture, and pain. And I seriously loved every second of it. If you've read the first book in the series, then you MUST read the sequel!

In this installment, Allison is on a journey to rescue her mentor/sire from the psychotic vampire, Sarren. I think Allison is an awesome character :) The girl is really brave, for one, a characteristic that many are not. She's went through and seen so many things throughout the story that was torturous. I seriously do not understand how she can handle the situations so well and manage to survive. As we make our way through the book we run into Jackal and also Zeke. And for some insane and twisted reason, I like Jackal. Am I the only one? I think I might be! I mean come on, "Well, I have good news and bad news," he announced. "The good news is that the jeep is where we left it, and I got the damned thing working again." "What's the bad news?" I asked. "Something took my fuzzy dice." I mean the seriousness of his snarky comments always get me. They brought some entertainment and light to a story filled with pain. And then there was Zeke who I do like and who is a brave character as well. The only human in the mix with all those vamps says a lot. But the relationship between him and Allison is not for me. For some reason, I'm just not feeling the chemistry between the two. In the next installment I'm really hoping to see more of Kanin because he's a mystery to me, but I also like him as well!

The Eternity Cure was fill with page after page of action. It left me wanting more and kept me continuously turning the pages. There were many secrets revealed about the virus and so many answers to find. And I so KNEW that was going to happen there at the end. Kagawa, you didn't get me! I can't wait to find out what will happen in the next installment! I'm dying for its release :D This is a must read for those who love and want to start this series.

Thanks so much to Netgalley for an eARC of The Eternity Cure. All thoughts are my honest opinion!

  3. I have yet to read The Immortal Rules and it has been sitting on my shelf for a while....after this I might just pick it up and see why everyone enjoyed it so much. Although, I have been reading mixed reviews for this book. I'm glad to hear you weren't disappointed....I love it when a book delivers!

    Awesome review, Janina! :D
