Allison Sekemoto has vowed to rescue her creator, Kanin, who is being held hostage and tortured by the psychotic vampire Sarren. The call of blood leads her back to the beginning—New Covington and the Fringe, and a vampire prince who wants her dead yet may become her wary ally.
Even as Allie faces shocking revelations and heartbreak like she’s never known, a new strain of the Red Lung virus that decimated humanity is rising to threaten human and vampire alike.

This is one of my top 2013 books that I was dying to get my hands on and it DID NOT DISAPPOINT! This is a pretty massive read that I devoured within days. I could not put the book down! I loved the world that Julie Kagawa has created, a city where the vamps rule and the humans are nothing but a source of food. This was a pretty dark read. The book was filled with so much sadness, heartache, torture, and pain. And I seriously loved every second of it. If you've read the first book in the series, then you MUST read the sequel!

Fate isn’t something to mess with… and now, neither is Alex.
Alex has always feared two things: losing herself in the Awakening and being placed on the Elixir. But love has always been stronger than Fate, and Aiden St. Delphi is willing to make war on the gods—and Alex herself—to bring her back.
The gods have killed thousands and could destroy entire cities in their quest to stop Seth from taking Alex’s power and becoming the all-powerful God Killer. But breaking Alex’s connection to Seth isn’t the only problem. There are a few pesky little loopholes in the whole “an Apollyon can’t be killed” theory, and the only person who might know how to stop the destruction has been dead for centuries.
Finding their way past the barriers that guard the Underworld, searching for one soul among countless millions, and then somehow returning will be hard enough. Alex might be able to keep Seth from becoming the God Killer… or she might become the God Killer herself.

This was another amazing installment in the covenant series! Just like all the others, this book kept me wanting more as I continued through the story. There was a ton of action going on throughout the book that made me not want to put the book down! And there was way more romance than I thought there was going to be, which is a plus for me :) And might I add that this is my favorite cover out of all the books in the series. I am now dying for the release of Sentinel, the final book! I received a physical ARC from the publisher for my honest review.

Amanda gives a whole new meaning to cool…
Amanda Smith is sick of getting chased from town-to-town. So when she lands in tiny Trifle, Arizona, she hopes it’s her last move for a long time. Despite hating the smallness of the town, she settles in and finds a best friend, and even a boyfriend. Normality at its finest.
But for a girl who can shoot snow from her hands and lift a two-ton truck over her head like a bag of feathers—normal is not an option.
The scientists who murdered her mother come barreling into Amanda’s quiet life. She must decide if she’ll run again or stay and fight. The price of either choice might be her life or the lives of those she’s come to love…

Why I'm Wishing...
I ran across this on Pinterest. Gotta love Pinterest right?! And the cover caught my eye and so did the synopsis. I mean super strength with an elemental twist, has me curious :)

Bookish Quotes (3)

I don't know what it is, but I've always loved quotes. This is where I share quotes from books that I've read and that stood out to me. Oh and I have a thing of love quotes ;)

“I think she's brave. I think that nobody has ever believed what she could be capable of. All her life, nobody was listening.”
― Lauren DeStefano, Sever
“I don't know if it was love or an illusion. I don't know if there's ever a way to be certain.”
― Lauren DeStefano, Sever

“Love is illogical, love had consequences--I did this to myself, and I should be able to take it.”
― Marie Lu, Prodigy
“He is beauty, inside and out.
He is the silver lining in a world of darkness.
He is my light.”
― Marie Lu, Prodigy

“It's easy to look at people and make quick judgments about them, their present and their past, but you'd be amazed at the pain and tears a single smile hides. What a person shows to the world is only one tiny facet of the iceberg hidden from sight. And more often then not, it's lined with cracks and scars that go all the way to the foundation of their soul.”
― Sherrilyn Kenyon, Acheron
“Actions that sometimes seem mean aren’t. Rather they are done by the ones we love in order to protect us without our knowing it. ”
― Sherrilyn Kenyon, Acheron
