Synopsis:
Cas Lowood has inherited an unusual vocation: He kills the dead.
So did his father before him, until he was gruesomely murdered by a ghost he sought to kill. Now, armed with his father's mysterious and deadly athame, Cas travels the country with his kitchen-witch mother and their spirit-sniffing cat. Together they follow legends and local lore, trying to keep up with the murderous dead—keeping pesky things like the future and friends at bay.
When they arrive in a new town in search of a ghost the locals call Anna Dressed in Blood, Cas doesn't expect anything outside of the ordinary: track, hunt, kill. What he finds instead is a girl entangled in curses and rage, a ghost like he's never faced before. She still wears the dress she wore on the day of her brutal murder in 1958: once white, now stained red and dripping with blood. Since her death, Anna has killed any and every person who has dared to step into the deserted Victorian she used to call home.
But she, for whatever reason, spares Cas's life.
My Thoughts:
This book was about a boy named Cas, who takes over ghost hunting after his father dies from a bizarre attack. He an his mom move to a new city chasing the story of a ghost, Anna dressed in blood. From there on he is set on a quest to kill the ghost but comes to release he's in store for more than he thought he was.
This book was amazing! I loved the storyline and the plot. It was just written so well! The characters were great, every last one of them. Cas and Anna were probably my favorite. I like Thomas too. Each character played their role just like I pictured it should be. This book was kind of creepy. Lol. I have never read anything like this before. It was kind of gory actually, in certain parts, but not to much. The part in the book where you finally, FINALLY, find out what happens with Anna is just so sad! Who would do that? You guys have to read this to know what I'm talking about..
And the end! Ugh! I Want to know what is going to happen next, RIGHT NOW!
This is one of my new favorite books! It was just something different than what I've ever read. I like going out of my comfort zones =) I recommend this book to any and everyone. Maybe not to young though. 15 & up maybe? Awesome book! Can't wait for the next book in the series!
