Their forbidden love may get them both killed. Bella is a red werewolf, sole survivor of the fire that killed her entire pack.
Devlyn is a beta male werewolf in a pack of grays. Forced to flee her adopted gray pack when the alpha male becomes a vicious threat, she struggles to live as a lone wolf, until Devlyn, the gray male who rescued her as a pup, comes to bring her home.
When a local red werewolf goes on a killing spree, Bella and Devlyn must flee the murderer, the police and their vengeful pack leader. With the full moon rising, and her heat upon her, Bella can't resist the pull to her destined mate, even if means Devlyn will have to face the wicked alpha male in a fight to the death...
A sizzling paranormal romance based on extensive research on how wolves live and behave in the wild, creating a fascinating world of nature and fantasy.

As you guys know, I have a weakness for my beloved wolf shifters. I am a shifter girl through and through! I really love Terry Spear's writing style. She really captured my attention with the characters and the plot, even the characters I didn't like. I've been waiting for a chance to sit down and dig into this book :) I would like to thank Terry for sending me the first three books in the Heart of the Wolf series, some odd months ago! All thoughts are my honest opinion!

My favorite character of them all was Devlyn! The males always catch my attention for some reason. I thought he was Bella's perfect mate, even though she annoyed me. The things he did for her should make any girl swoon. I thought Devlyn was a sweetheart, even though he had a wicked side to him :) Oh how I loved that wicked side! Now Bella on the other hand, me and her have a little love hate relationship going on. See, I think she makes the perfect mate for Devlyn, but her mindset is really what annoyed me the most. How can you have faith in him to eliminate the red wolf killers, but had absolutely no faith in him to take on Volan. Excuse me while I smack you silly! That annoyed me so much. Ugh! Sometimes, Bella could be so weak minded and I can't stand a weak female who will run at the first sign of real danger. Enough talk of Bella. I also liked Bella's friend Chrissie! She was hilarious :) And poor Thomas didn't know how to handle himself! It was just too cute to see how Chrissie and Thomas turned out.

But other than Bella's issues, I really enjoyed the book! Sometimes, I felt the romance was a bit mushy, but I like it :) And the book had tons of action and suspense that left me completely satisfied! I need my dose of action.

Overall, I thought the book was pretty good! I can't wait to read book 2, so I can catch up to book 9 (which I've already read). Haha :) Yeah, silly me didn't know that book 9 was actually not book 1. If you are a lover of shifter, I recommend this one to you.
