The Iron Knight

The Iron Knight (Iron Fey, #4)The Iron Knight by Julie Kagawa

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Synopsis
My name- my True Name- is Ashallyn'darkmyr Tallyn. I am the last remaining son of Mab, Queen of the Unseelie Court.
And I am dead to her.
My fall began, as many stories do, with a girl...
To cold faery prince Ash, love was a weakness for mortals and fools. His own love had died a horrible death, killing gentler feelings the Winter Prince might have had. Or so he thought.
Then Meghan Chase- a half-human, half-fey slip of a girl- smashed through his barricades, binding him to her irrevocably with his oath to be her knight. And when all of Faery nearly fell to the Iron fey, she severed their bond to save his life. Meghan is now the Iron Queen, ruler of a realm where no Winter or Summer faery can survive,
With the unwelcome company of his archrival, Summer Court prankster Puck, and the infuriating cait sith Grimalkin, Ash begins a journey he is bound to see through its end- a quest to find a way to honor his vow to stand by Meghan's side.
To survive the Iron Realm, Ash must have a soul and a mortal body. But the tests he must face to earn these things are impossible. And along the way, Ash learns something that changes everything. A truth that challenges his darkest beliefs and shows him that, sometimes, it takes more than courage to make the ultimate sacrifice.

 My Thoughts
OMG!!! LOVED, LOVED, LOVED! Ash, oh, Ash! I loved how you got into his mind and his way of thinking than in all the other books. Kagawa did a great job at making this book in Ash point of view. The action in this book, tops the chart! I believe there was more action in this book than any of the other books, which i loved. I fell even more in love with Ash with this installment. You get to see his true feelings about the way he loves, the things he do, and the feelings with his actions from the past. His character development is amazing! Ariella, not going to touch the subject much, so as not to give any spoilers. Just know that you "learn more" of her in this book! *wink* Puck! You gotta love Puck. He is my second favorite character, besides Ash of course. He makes the books, with his sense of humor and his overall character. You learn more about him in this book also. I loved the parts with him in the book. The brief glimpses with Megan are great. Wish there was more. And the flashes of the future, with Ash and Megan. OMG! I almost died... I loved it. But i don't really understand if that is set in stone. This book was amazing. To me it is the best one so far!!!!!

  2. Iron Knight WAS brilliant! Some other reviewers have commented on the lack of Ashness (a.k.a we don't get a description of Ash taking his shirt off unlike with all the books from Meghan's POV!) but I think it is a refreshing change to get to read it from the Ice Prince's POV. I adored Puck!! I feel so bad for him!!!

    Great review!
    Love Booknut
