Scotty and his friends Pete and Jason are among the last seven kids at their high school waiting to get picked up that day, and they soon realize that no one is coming for them. Still, it doesn't seem so bad to spend the night at school, especially when distractingly hot Krista and Julie are sleeping just down the hall. But then the power goes out, then the heat. The pipes freeze, and the roof shudders. As the days add up, the snow piles higher, and the empty halls grow colder and darker, the mounting pressure forces a devastating decision.
The thing is, I really enjoyed this book. The story kept me interest in seeing what would happen to the seven students that were trapped in the school in major blizzard. We learn about everything that happened through Scotty's point of view. Scotty was your average teenager. He was on the basketball team, but was pretty much your normal teen. The seven kids stuck in the school weren't all friends. Scotty had his two friends, then there was the trouble maker and a weird outcast guy, and then there were two popular girls. I thought it was interesting seeing how all the different personalities would come together or clash, but I have to admit I thought there would have been more drama than there was. I think the story could have been better had there been some sort of tension between the kids, fights and things of that nature (even though that's bad to say), But everyone, for the most part, got along. That's not a bad thing at all, the story stuck more towards the survive of the people.
