Blogger Interview: Juhina & Farah at MajiBookshelf

Hey everyone,
I am trying to do a new thing with the blog :)
Blogger Interviews! Where me and you guys get to know more about your fellow bloggers!
This is the first one!
Please welcome Juhina and Farah from Majibookshelf!
I absolutely adore their blog and have been following them for a while, I believe. They are really nice and if you haven't seen there blog you will find their links toward the end of the interview or click there blog button!

The Interview:

1. Well, to start off this interview how about you tell us a little bit about yourself and your blog.
Juhina: Hey guys! So my name is Juhina (spelt: JOO-HAI-NA) and I’m 21 years old! I’m a fourth year chemical engineering student hoping to graduate next fall (FINALLY!) and I am a social media-holic. You can find me ANYWHERE, seriously, I would have an account for it. I love to read (obviously), watch movies and tv shows, especially korean, Japanese, and Taiwanese dramas! . As for music, im a music lover, I honestly listen to any song, I don’t discriminate. I especially love Korean music. I’m the mastermind behind the blog but my Farah and I run it together!

Farah: Ello everyone! My name is Farah, and God knows how you pronounce it. I’m 16 years old, currently in the 10th grade. I’m a person who would rather chill at home with a good book or show, rather thank go out with friends. I love drawing, and I’ve been drawing since I was a kid. I’m addicted to any new gadgets, and I love smelling them. I don’t know what I would do without my sister, so I’m blessed to have her!

2. How do you maintain your blog? (Ex: Is there a schedule you stick to or you post as you go.)
Juhina: I’m a control freak! *phew* - now that that’s out of the way, you can understand that I like to schedule posts, A LOT. Right now we have around 15 posts scheduling, up to mid April. I’m a university student, the past two weeks I only wrote about 4 posts, the rest are all scheduled, so you can understand the need for my early scheduling?

Farah: As you can probably see, Juhina is a control freak! *whyy* She definitely likes everything to look perfect! We don’t have any specific schedule we follow. We just write our reviews and schedule them on the blog itself.

3. How did you come up with the name of your blog? Is there any backstory to it?
Juhina & Farah: It took us a while to find a name but we took the easy way out. Our last name is Elmajdoub, and our older brother uses Maji for his username in games, so we stole it from him, hence Majibookshelf

 4. When it comes to reviewing a book, what are some tips you would give to bloggers?
Juhina: Stay honest, don’t sugar coat it because you’re afraid of hurting the author’s feelings or from criticism. As long as you are not rude and are very objective I think you’ll be fine. If you want people to read and trust your blog, you need to be honest, I know I wouldn’t check reviews that are biased or untrue

Farah: When I want to read a review, I want to read the reader’s honest opinion. Not to the extent where they become totally rude. In your review, do not include spoilers. Nobody wants to read a review for a book then have it spoiled for him or her. Try to make them short, and not too detailed.

5. If you could switch blogs for a day, whose blog would you switch with?
Juhina: Hmm, I really love a ton of blogs, but I don’t know what I would do with switching blogs, but if I had to choose, the first blog that came to my mind is Sam’s blog “realm of fiction” (www.realmoffiction.blogspot.com). I love how she gets so many people to interacte with, I know its because she is very active (something I don’t have the luxury of doing), so I would to switch blogs and enjoy all the awesome comments she gets ;)

Farah: I honestly don’t know. There are a lot of blogs out there, and many AMAZING blogs as well. *thinking for five minutes* Okay I can’t choose one, so I wont be able to answer this one.

6. Do you use bookshelves to store your books or are they all laying around? If you use bookshelves, how many do you have?
Juhina: Oh yes, remember the control freak? Add to that a clean freak. I arrange my books in terms of favorite (top shelf), then hardbacks (second shelf), then paperbacks (last two shelves), and in each of those shelves, they’re arranged in order of height. Farah has her own shelf

Farah: I’m kind of obsessed about my shelf being perfect. I stare at it everyday, and adjust it weekly. I arrange it with hardbacks first shelf, paperbacks that are my favorite (second shelf), and the rest of my paperback in the last two shelfs. I arrange them in height and color, so they won’t look annoying to the eye.

7. What is one way, to you, that makes a blog eye catching?
Juhina: Definitely the design, it’s a fact that first impressions can basically be the maker or breaker. If I go on a blog and it’s all dark and I can barely read, no matter how good the content is, I’d probably be heading for the close button.

Farah: I’m an art person, so I love looking at blog’s design. When I see a blog that is all messy with weird colors, it kind of annoys me and makes me want to click on the x button. I like to see their posts organized as well.

8. What is your favorite book genre and what is one book you would recommend that falls into that genre?
Juhina: Dystopian is currently my favorite genre!! All the dystopian books I love are pretty known, but the one I am head over heals in love with is Divergent by Veronica Roth. If you haven’t read it, then you’re missing out!

Farah: A while ago, I would probably say paranormal. I still do like paranormal, but right now I’m leaning more towards realistic fiction. I want a book that will touch me throughout. A book that will make me cry, and a book I can relate to in real life. I currently read “Wintergirls” by Laurie Halse Anderson a few weeks ago, and it was one of the best books I read.

9.What is one thing about a book that turns you off about it?
Juhina: INSTA-LOVE! *Shudders* That is one thing that REALLY turns me off to the maximum. I would rather NOT have a romance in a book than insta-love, that’s how much I hate it.

Farah: Eh… ill probably have to say historical fiction, insta love, and reincarnation. I have read one historical book and I just couldn’t relate to the characters at all! Insta love seems too childish and unrealistic to me, and reincarnation as well.

10. Where can we find you? (twitter, blog, goodreads, fb links)
Juhina: Remember when I said I’m EVERYWHERE? Well here’s the list:
