Gabriel Merrick plays with fire. Literally.

Sometimes he can even control it. And sometimes he can’t. Like the fire that killed his parents.

Gabriel has always had his brothers to rely on, especially his twin, Nick. But when an arsonist starts wreaking havoc on their town, all the signs point to Gabriel. Only he’s not doing it.

More than Gabriel’s pride is at stake -- this could cost him his family, maybe his life. And no one seems to hear him. Except a shy sophomore named Layne, a brainiac who dresses in turtlenecks and jeans and keeps him totally off balance. Layne understands family problems, and she understands secrets. She has a few of her own.

Gabriel can’t let her guess about his brothers, about his abilities, about the danger that’s right at his heels. But there are some risks he can’t help taking.

The fuse is lit…

Let me just say one thing. I did NOT think I would fall in love with Gabriel Merrick as much as I did! I think he just might be a fave :) I love all the Merrick brothers, but in this book, Gabriel stood out from the others. He showed emotions and his actions were completely different than what I thought of him! How could this book be just as good or even better than Storm? I can't even decide which one I liked better :D But Spark gave Storm a run for its money!

Gabriel and his element, fire, were two wild combinations. Your really get to see how his connectin with his element affects his actions. I absolute adored Gabriel in this book, not so much in Storm. He was somehow the same in both books, but you get some insight to why he acts the way he acts and all the different emotions he is going through. To me he is the black sheep of the family. He feels as though he is a failure, which I didn't think at all. And he also tended to feel alone. I realized that in this book. I never would've thought. He just tends to make bad choices. But he turns out to be this sensitive, brave, and caring guy without even realizing it!

I really liked Gabriel's relationship with Layne. She was this sweet girl, quiet girl with a lot of emotional baggage of her own. And the two of them together, in my eyes, made a wonderful couple. I really liked their chemistry from the start. She was the only one who stood up to him and told Gabriel about himself. Those two together ignited 'sparks' of their own :) And Layne's, adorable brother Simon! He was an added bonus to this book!

And the side romances that involved Michael and Nick! Oh, I really hope those two get a book of their own. I am really starting to warm up to Michael :) I really like him and he has some adorable moments :D When Gabriel gave him one of his shirts to 'make Michael appear decent' I bout died laughing! His reaction...Adorable! Nick was a little different to this book and really hope to get more insight to his mind.

Once again, an amazing book in this awesome series :) It was completely action packed and had some great romance. This is becoming a new favorite series that I can't wait to see more of! I so angry that I have to wait until June 2013 to read the third, but hopefully not the final book in this amazing series! Highly recommend you guys read Storm! Thanks to Netgalley for the E-ARC of this book! All thoughts are my honest opinions :)
