This Lullaby

Title: This Lullaby
Author: Sarah Dessen

Synopsis:
When it comes to relationships, Remy doesn't mess around. After all, she's learned all there is to know from her mother, who's currently working on husband number five. But there's something about Dexter that seems to defy all of Remy's rules. He certainly doesn't seem like Mr. Right. For some reason, however, Remy just can't seem to shake him. Could it be that Remy's starting to understand what those love songs are all about?

My Thoughts:
This book was about a girl named Remy who has struggled with the idea of love, thinking she would rather do without after seeing all the failed marriages her mother has gone through. In this book, Remy meets a boy named Dexter who defies everything she has ever believed in about love.

This was a great book. The storyline was written very well. I really loved the concept. Remy's character was so set in her ways about the issue of love that she denied herself of it all. Remy had attitude and loved to be in control and if she wasn't in control, she felt out of her element. I liked that about her even though it was the main issue with her true feelings.

Dexter was a whole other story. He was the clumsy boy, who could never keep still and was optimistic about everything. He was my favorite character, the breath of fresh air in this book. His love for Remy was just so sweet, it just makes me smile. Dexter made Remy feel things that she never experienced before and I really enjoyed it.

Remy's mother and Dexter were the main people in this book who gave her a different outlook on love, and also her friends. The made her see what she couldn't or what she wouldn't let herself see or believe in. The side characters, both characters friends, where fun and lively.

Overall this book was great, I really enjoyed it. But it also got slow at times, but not slow to where I didn't like the book. It just had parts that could have been left out in my opinion. If you like chick lit books and books that has some drama, this book is for you!
