There is need. And then there is Fate...
Being destined to become some kind of supernatural electrical outlet isn't exactly awesome--especially when Alexandria's "other half" is everywhere she goes. Seth's in her training room, outside her classes, and keeps showing up in her bedroom--so not cool. Their connection does have some benefits, like staving off her nightmares of the tragic showdown with her mother, but it has no effect on what Alex feels for the forbidden, pure-blooded Aiden. Or what he will do--and sacrifice--for her.
When daimons infiltrate the Covenants and attack students, the gods send furies--lesser gods determined to eradicate any threat to the Covenants and to the gods, and that includes the Apollyon... and Alex. And if that and hordes of aether-sucking monsters didn't blow bad enough, a mysterious threat seems willing to do anything to neutralize Seth, even if that means forcing Alex into servitude... or killing her.
When the gods are involved, some decisions can never, ever be undone.

I really love this series and I loved this book! Ratings: 4.5 star - I don't know how Jennifer continues to wow me, but she does it with every single book of hers that I read.

This was an amazing sequel to Half-Blood. Throughout this entire book my eyes were glued to the pages. I didn't know what to expect. So much was going on and so many different elements were happening that I just couldn't put it down. It was THAT good!

In this book we see a lot more of Seth. I like him now, but I still want Alex to be with Aiden. Seth is a great guy. You see a completely different side to him in this installment than we seen in Half-Blood. But I was also pissed because, of course, a love triangle developed. Like really? Why couldn't we have just wonderful Aiden...Even though I like Seth, I just don't want Alex to choose him lol Yeah, that's just my thoughts on that. And Aiden annoyed me a little bit. He needs to take a chance! And Alex acts like she's so blind. Could Aiden have been anymore obvious with his emotions

But on to another note. This book was filled with action! And had tons of those, "OMG, what going to happen next moments"! Like I said before, I could not put this book down! It was amazing :) I can't wait to find out what happens in the next installment because things really picked up in this book. The ending was amazing and so many things happened. I need Deity now!!!

I definitely recommend this series to everyone. It's an amazing series and I think it would be enjoyable to anyone!

  1. Ah, a love triangle? I suppose that would be a major turn off for me. Most of the time I can deal with it, although it definitely bugs me. I love that there's lots of action though - that's something I need in almost every book! Thanks for the review!
